My name is Nilvia Edith Viamonte Pérez. I am a Cuban immigrant, mother, and healthcare professional. In Cuba, I practiced as a physician — but when I emigrated to the United States, I faced painful obstacles that prevented me from validating my degree.
Rather than give up, I rebuilt. I discovered the field of cardiac ultrasound and fell in love with its ability to diagnose, prevent, and save lives. I began again — new country, new language, new system — but with the same passion for medicine that has guided me my entire life.
Today, as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), I founded GV SonoHeart LLC with a simple mission: to bring early cardiac diagnosis to communities without barriers, delays, or excessive costs.

Mi nombre es Nilvia Edith Viamonte Pérez. Soy inmigrante cubana, madre y profesional de la salud. En Cuba ejercí como médica, pero al emigrar a los Estados Unidos enfrenté obstáculos que me impidieron validar mi título.
En lugar de rendirme, me reconstruí. Descubrí el campo del ultrasonido cardíaco y me enamoré de su capacidad de diagnosticar, prevenir y salvar vidas. Comencé de nuevo — nuevo país, nuevo idioma, nuevo sistema — pero con la misma pasión por la medicina que me ha guiado toda la vida.
Hoy, como Sonografista Cardíaca Diagnóstica Registrada (RDCS), fundé GV SonoHeart LLC con una misión simple: llevar el diagnóstico cardíaco temprano a comunidades sin barreras, demoras ni costos excesivos.
